Whilst vacuuming the boot of my insignia hatchback the other day, I noticed a space on the drivers side of the boot lining for another courtesy light fitting. Currently there's only the one on the passenger side and to be honest its pretty useless, not really illuminating the boot well. Does anyone know if the relay/fuse/wiring would support a second lamp? I know the estates have two, not sure if they use different wiring. The alternative I suppose would to fit LED's or some other low power lighting.

My tourer as only one in the roof lining and none below the boot cover so if the cover is over you can’t see any thing at night.

Hmm on my Insignia it`s on the driver`s side as well but it means that it is the left side as mine is Opel.. so maybe the spare place is just because if u have VX or Opel.

No idea, anyone looked? I'm thinking its probably a 5W festoon bulb.

I've stuck on some led strips on either side, just above where the bulb is.

I have just fitted two LED lighting strips in the trunk of my Sports Tourer as the lighting from the one in the roof is pants, and what a difference it has made.

I took the feed from the roof light so when the tailgate opens the lights come on, this only took 15 mins to fit.

The LED strips come with self adhesive strips.

Here is the direct link from where I purchased these LED's from:

I have taken some pics for you to look at;

Have a similar setup in my hatch, stuck the led strips under the parcel shelf strips next to the existing light.
