Looks like the Toyota Avensis.
All new cars look the same nowadays anyway, no character about them at all.
I do like the new Alfa Mito tho - but I think thats just a Punto in different clothing.....

Yip think you're right :) those wind tunnels have a lot to answer for
Mito is nice ;) I had the chance to drive the Brera for a weekend and thought it was a great car, but reality brought me crashing back to land as there was no way I could fit my family in there  I'm 6'5" and have two sons over 6' and my wife is 5'11" - Breed them big up here in Scotland :D
Cheers

yeah, I've mistaken several Mazda 6's for Insignias recently, especially from the back.

It's always happened - Mondeo/Mk 3 Cavalier. Mk 3 Escort/Mk 2 Astra/Golf/etc.
Even going back to the 1930's - you watch the old gangster movies with James Cagney - all the cars have got running boards, suicide doors and big radiator grilles!
One company makes a successful car and all the others quickly follow.

That's why we may like the new Insignia etc, but we like the individuality of the various marks of Cavalier, Mk1-3 Astra's, Carlton, Senator's etc and their Opel equivalents. Can't confuse them and thats why we by them, spend thousands on repairs and restoring them.
Go to an VX enthusiats meet and line up a row of the current production Vauxhalls and line up a roww of the old Vauxhalls as above and see which row gets the enthusiast's eyes lighting up !
;)
