Has anyone had to change their fronts yet? I've driven just over 12000 mile's so far and a trip to our friendly fitters is imminent......:(

Think I would be a little dissapointed if I only achieved 12k out of my front tyres, especially knowing the prices these 45/245/18 cost.

I always get a good 30,000 miles out of my tyres usually, tyres on my previous vec-c were changed at just over 30k miles and they still had 2 to 3 mm left on them. However I am quite light footed and avoid heavy braking.

I only have the 1.8 so the car is underpowered for its size and 1.6+ tons of weight, so virtually impossible to generate wheel spin not that I'd want to anyway, so I'm hoping the tyres will last quite well.:)

Though TBH I have a feeling I will not be keeping this car too long. :(

I'd have to ask what kind of tyres really.
Some budget range can be very fast wearing as can some expensive more well known variants.

garys right in depends on the rubber compound, i'm on toyo poxes which are designed to be a softer rubber to stick better

I assume its a Insignia car and so will have the original VX OEM tyres fitted, and probably be one of the major brands. Mine came fitted with Brigestone Potanza's, though they also use Michellin, and Continental, and probably others too. 12k out of a set of tyres indicates a problem, or a very heavy foot. :D

Got Michelin's on mine (130 CDTi) and would somewhat annoyed if I had to change mine at 12k:mad:

I would want closer to 20k before I even started to worry about tyre fitters :)

On my Zafira original Continentals were shot by 22K but Goodyear Eagle NCT's do about 32K on front.

Im running with Continental SportContact 3 on mine. Passed 8k km already and cant notice a sign of wearness. It seems they have at least 5-6mm grip left.
