As above, I'm looking for a Bedford CF Car Transporter or Chassis Cab in good Condition, it will only be used to bring a Chevette and a Chevanne to Classic Car Shows etc and hence needs to be a bit of a looker as opposed to a bit of a scrapper! I don't mind if it needs work as long as this is reflected in the price.

Thanks Mal

Spec Lift is no good as it needs to be able to put one on the back and tow a trailer behind it. Did they make a Midi Chassis Cab??

I don't think they did, just a bus or panel van, which seem odd as the CF was a pick up with twin wheel axle.:(

I've seen that one, but at £1500 and "MOT Exempt" status, it doesn't look particularly inviting . . and I would say needs a lot of work. There were two or three on a couple of months ago that went for between £780 and £1000, but typically I wasn't looking for one then.

They made a pick up i'm sure. Just get a toyota one and stick a griffin on the front. all the same thing. :D Try sending John Skoota a pm. He's a member over on the CF owners, just in case something comes up there

Seen Chris's post, yes, it's very likely that someone on the CF/UK site will either have, or know, of what you want. There was a LWB flat bed on there recently, but I think it was canibalised. I'll check and look again for you. Cheers, John.

Had a look on the CF/UK site's sales, sorry, nothing there like that at the moment. However, I've left a PM for a very good friend, who helped me to do the engine in our CF, to ask him to keep an eye out for you. He has a vast number of contacts. Let you know, when I do. Cheers, John.

I found a brilliant one in Rickmansworth a year ago and put down a deposit on it, but the old xxxxxx then refused to sell me it. Wonder what happened to it. Anyone remember it in TV?

would this be any good to convert??:):)

A3LTR

not really good to convert, carrying capacity would only be about 1.2 ton as it is, once there is a beavertail body on it you'd be down to under a ton....

I wasn't sure if a twin whell axle would be do-able on this, to aid the weight?:confused::o

A3LTR

The wheel base would be far too short.. the twin wheeler models were made in 2 versions, standard 126" WB and then the 140" WB which was only avail in chassiscab form

The twin wheeler I've got is just big enough to fit me cav MK1 on it.. to stay within the legal limits etc, the longest I could make the body was 12'6"....

Cheers Guys, that's one to keep an eye on, the cab doesn't look too bad and the body just needs a bit of wire brushing and a repaint . . it would be a fair trek home from Essex . . I might have to go and look at this next week, as I'm working in Kent all week and have to go to Dartford to pick up a set of Chevette HS Wheels and tyres, then I have a car to pick up in the Midlands the weekend after (which has less than 10k on the clock and has been in said garage since 1993 and its been bought unseen).
