A polite request

In one sense I dont think its a good idea for me to post this because someone is bound to think that I am getting at them which i assure you I am not but I feel on the other hand this needs to be said.

I have noticed certain posts on the site which have an air of sarcasum or nastyness about them, maybe its just me but this is the way I think they will be viewed by some people (and certainly I think some of them fall into this category).

Basically there is no need for sarcasum or nastyness on the public forum and if you feel that you have a problem with another member,user, area rep, moderator or admin then you should deal with it in PM's or e-mails and not display it on the public site because most people are not interested in other peoples 'dirty washing' plus it makes us look like an unfriendly site which couldn't be further from the truth. If you have no luck resolving it by talking to the person concerned then you should escalate it to admin.

I have worked really hard to make this club what it is since i took over 5 years ago and I dont want to see it go to pot just because some people feel they need to air their dirty washing in public.

I want to stress that this post is not designed to offend anyone and i sincerely hope that it doesn't. Also it is not getting at any particular person or persons as I think that we can all be guilty of the above at times.


I understand that some comments are made in jest which i actively encourage to continue because it makes the site fun but what I wish to stamp out is the posts which have a tinge (or delibrate) nastyness or serious sarcasum in them.

Please feel free to send your constructive rants to myself or mitch if you wish and we will do everything we can to help you sort the problem out - that also goes if you have a problem with either of us.


Finally on a more positive note I would like to thank all users of the site for their support, the site and club have grown wider than my wildest expectations so thank you to you all.


So the jist of the above is if you have a problem then please sort it out via PM or e-mail and not on the public site.

Not at all Kevin, its just that when I look at some posts I think to myself that it looks a bit sarcastic or a bit nasty and if i'm thinking that then who else is as well. I have noticed that over the time that the site has been running there are people which have been here and then suddenly no longer visit and I would hate it to be because of something that has been posted on here. Obviously i know that some of it is due to natural progreesion such as selling the car etc but I just dont want people to visit for the first time and see sarcastic or nasty posts between members because it just makes us look like we are a site that lets members /users do all their dirty washing in public and this is not good for the site.


One thing I dont want is for people to think they have to walk on eggshells because that isn't good for the site either, I have no problem with friendly banter (in fact I actively encoureage it) but its just when it gets towards 'un-friendly' sarcky comments or delibrate nastyness.

If any member does get it wrong then the particular post will be edited or removed and a polite PM sent to that member explaining the reasons why and that should be the end of it.

I have not and never will be offened by sheep jokes, how shallow do you think i am, i have never once complained about content to do with the drivel thread - cuthberts corner either on a post or by pm and never will. We are talking about a Welshman and a sheep it goes and in hand (excuse the pun) as been for years and hopefully for many years to come.

Got to side with you here. There are plenty"car clubs" out there you could pay your twelve quid to, but this one stands out from the crowd because of the people on it and the craic on it. To me(who's never even thought of joining an owners club before this one) if you have to think first speak second, you lose the spontinaity of the posts.

Just to echo the point, lol, this is THE best car club on the net bar none!!! The banter is great, the people are greater and the cars..... I signed up for a Honda club when I had the Accord and unless it was a type R or NSX they weren't really interested, too far up their own ar**s!!! The Japs wanted to build a Honda factory in Wales. All went well until it was found that the nips wanted to call it 'Cwm Honda' which didn't go down too well in the valleys!

It was the same in the Volvo Owners. If you didn't have a classic and/or a newish model costing several thousand then you were frowned upon. Bunch of tampaxes they were, stuck up tw*ts.

How Mark does what he does, I don't know. But I do know that I couldn't do it.

So I guess I'll be renewing me membership in the not too distant future when its due.
