Cavalier V6, same 'Guild of Experienced Motorists' owner since 1998. It's a hatchback in Rioja metallic and has done 165,000 miles.
In the last 600 miles the car has had:

Timing belt and tensioner kit
Drive belt
Water pump
Alternator
Clutch cable
Oil/filter
Spark plugs
Fresh Antifreeze
Brake pads all around

The car has an extensive history, detailed in a little notebook. It has had a Castrol Magnatec oil change every 6000 miles, and a clutch at 125,000.

I bought the car from a local dealer where the owner had traded it in as it was making a noise from the engine, which only turned out to be the alternator.

I put it in for its MoT and it failed on brake pads, and headlight aim, and a tiny patch of welding at the rear sill. This has all been fixed and the car now has a fresh MoT which expires on October 28 2010 along with six months tax.

It's a rare manual version and goes really well, there are no rattles or smoke from the engine, which uses next to no oil. It's very refined and comfortable to drive and will return over 30mpg in normal driving.

The interior is clean on the inside, everything works as it should. The car has the original tape deck, which has excellent radio reception. I have fitted a manual aerial as the electric one was on the blink.

Bad points? It's a bit wallowy and would benefit from some fresh suspension but that's pretty much a standard characteristic of old Cavaliers. The body is very solid overall, although there's a couple of scratches here and there on the paintwork (it is 14 years old).

Overall it's a very presentable example of an increasingly rare car. It's definitely a 'sleeper' and there's fun to be had showing up many newer cars. With the work it has had done, it's ready to rack up many more miles. I've covered about 1500 in it and it's been great. I'm selling it as I also have a Vectra SRi V6 I need to get on the road.

I'm looking for £700 ono.

Yeah it's mine. With the work it has done, all it really needs is some better suspension and maybe some lower profile tyres. It's a great car to drive but it needs to go as I have the Cav GSi, Calibra Turbo, Vectra SRi V5, Belmont SRi, Astra Sport and Mk2 Cav to deal with. Not to mention the Transit beavertail!

blimey mate, you've got nearly as many cars as us!! lol

Would love to give your V6 a home, just cant commit to owt at the moment. Shame, cos that is a fine looking motor, and Rioja does look good when its cared for.
