I have tried to keep quiet and play nice but . . .

People died to get you your right to vote, did you know that it wasn't just women who had to fight to vote, but that in the past the 'common man' wasn't allowed to vote either?

The 'we are damned whoever gets in' attitude is ill-advised and, sad to say, indicative of today's apathetic 'I'm alright jack' society. Now the country is left in turmoil with a weak and decidedly ominous coalition at the helm. Not only are the rights of the elderly and low waged at risk, but the very fundamentals of functioning society are at risk, do you realise how much childbirth will cost if the health system is privatised? Around 7k, and that's just the delivery, It will cost another 3-4k for all the scans, health checks and the appointment of a midwife. So, with teenage pregnancy on the rise, how do you think this will affect those poor children, who, through probably no real fault of their own, find themselves unable to pay for essential care? Because they sure as hell won't be able to afford a morning after pill or abortion (which will probably be made illegal anyway if the DUP have their way), So where do they go? Backstreet abortion clinics won't be the only thing we have to be concerned about, how about backstreet obstetricians? Babies left in boxes at your local sainsbury's? teenage girls bleeding out in an alley or some other such delightful place, clutching a new born to their breast?
How bad does it have to get for normally intelligent, right minded people, to get off their arse and exercise their right to vote?
If you wanted to keep your privileged easy life, then you should have voted, if you wanted to make a change to what is going on in this country, then you should have voted, If you wanted to be a useful and beneficial member of society, then you should have voted.
I'm Labour through and through, and yes , some Labour policies are not in line with all of my thinking, but in my opinion, they are the best bet for a freer, fairer society.
However, I do not mind who you vote for, it is your opinion, and you are welcome to it, however wrong you may be but to not vote? That is the option of the un-educated and ill-advised and carries with it it's own blithely arrogant bigotry and enforces my general dismay at the state of the world today... It's that attitude that dragged us kicking and screaming out of Europe and into the dark and uncharted waters we now find ourselves in. Non voters? xxxx you all, because you certainly have damn well screwed me and my children for years to come . . .

I assume you'll probably remove this post, it doesn't matter, I have vented, I am done . . . and there's probably no one here to read it anyway . . .
